Celebrating Pro Bono at the HCBA 5K & Judicial Food Festival
Crossroads joined a record‑setting Judicial Food Festival and a sold‑out 5K celebrating pro bono service. We are honored to be part of a legal community that continually shows up for pro bono work and stands behind the youth we serve.
Crossroads was proud to serve as a Silver Sponsor at the 22nd Annual Judicial Food Festival, a beloved Hillsborough County Bar Association tradition that brings together judges, attorneys, bar sections, partner firms, and even a petting zoo for a day of connection and community. The festival follows the 17th Annual 5K Pro Bono River Run, which once again sold out at 300 runners, underscoring how deeply our legal community values pro bono service.

The 5K is more than a race — it’s an annual celebration of the HCBA’s commitment to pro bono work. Runners who pledge 25 or more hours of pro bono service receive a reduced registration fee, a tradition that aligns closely with Crossroads’ mission. Since 2012, Crossroads has recruited and trained more than 280 attorneys, who have collectively provided over 56,000 hours of free legal representation to disadvantaged youth in Hillsborough County. Each year, we attend the 5K to encourage runners to fulfill those pledges and to consider joining our growing Army of Pro Bono Attorneys.
At the Food Festival, our team hosted a booth, shared a gourmet treat courtesy of Signature Popcorn. Scott also learned an important lesson: always trust the team when they say to bring extra caramel popcorn — it was the runaway favorite among attendees who stopped by to express interest in Crossroads. Throughout the afternoon, we connected with many of the dedicated lawyers and judges who strengthen our legal community and make our mission possible.
With so many HCBA members, bar sections, committees, partner firms, and community supporters present, the festival offered a wonderful opportunity to share our mission and continue building the capacity needed to ensure that every child in Hillsborough County has access to free legal services and the chance to overcome barriers to success.
Crossroads is deeply grateful to be part of a legal community that consistently champions pro bono service and supports the youth who rely on it.
